| Nov. 11th, 2009 @ 02:52 pm Buying A Flat, Take Two |
|---|
On the 16th of November (next Monday), I will be bidding at an auction for a flat. Unlike the last one in August, this one won't be in the same building but in the one next door - which means that moving will still be very simple. The expert says it's worth 25k€, but I don't want to bid more than 23.5 - the last time, a flat wort 25.5k€ was sold for 22.5, so I think I have a good chance of getting it.
That flat is slightly bigger than the other one in August, and it has a separate bedroom. Real estate prices have dropped in the past few months.
If not, there will be another auction on the 1st of December, for a flat in the same building as my current one, identical to the one in August - but the expert says it's only worth 23k€. So I could get the same as a few months ago for less.
Of course, real estate prices will probably continue to fall, but on the other hand, a lot of my grandmother's inheritance is in the hands of banks which are in dire straits, invested in financial products I don't understand. A flat is a flat is a flat, no matter how much the experts say it's worth, I can live in it. |
